Despite her deep integration into the Norwegian corporate world, she shared her enduring emotional and cultural connection to her birthplace, Shanghai, China. She also talked about how the death of her mum due to cancer when she was 10 years old shaped her. She started a new life with her dad in Norway when she was 17 years old. “ I learned a new language, a new culture and started my integration journey.”

With a distinguished career in Norway spanning over two decades, starting from her studies at BI Norwegian Business School, Lei has made significant contributions to prominent Norwegian companies such as Norsk Hydro, Kavli, and Hurtigruten, before bringing her expertise to Crayon, an IT management company.

In her session, Lei emphasised the importance of individual contributions in shaping the treasury field. Her story and insights provided a valuable perspective on the intersection of cultural heritage and professional excellence, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. “Who is the most important person in the universe? It’s you. You can make a difference for yourself and your surroundings. the process can be hard and hurtful, but don’t give up. You have to stay in the game.”
