22 treasurers dug into in-house banking in roundtable premier

22 treasurers around five round tables became the pilots of a completely new session format within the Treasury 360° Nordic conference, on Thursday morning. On the topic of in-house banking, explored within a challenging 30-minute time frame, they were able to benchmark and network with colleagues sharing the interest.

Can accounting structures be kept simple, with aspects like the “cobo”, “pobo” and need for clearing in play? This was one of the challenges noted by a treasurer on her/his “dialogue card” – the individual starting point for each participant then going into group discussion based on the notes.

Overall, the tone was merry and the sharing open-hearted throughout the session. A quick floor exercise at the opening – with delegates moving to floor corners by their companies’ sizes – allowed process facilitator Pia Villför Larsson to mix treasurers into internally diverse groups. It left the groups about 15 minutes to discuss the points they had written on their cards, before raising an example from each table in a final plenary discussion. Britt Jensen from track sponsor Citi capped off the session with some sports-reporter style post-game reflections.

After the session, the cards by each delegate were collected and put on a screen on the wall, to double as documentation of the session as a whole.

The track would continue with another three topics through the break-out section of the conference day: digitalisation, working capital and currency risks.
