“We want to be followed by as many as possible”

With green bond issues worth 16 billion euro in 2021 alone, Germany’s development bank KfW is among the world leaders. On Thursday 9 June, group treasurer Tim Armbruster will speak with the Treasury 360° Nordic conference in Copenhagen. “The decade ahead will determine what consequences our actions will have for generations to come,” he says.

Corporates who are, or plan to become, active in the market for green bonds or other sustainable-finance solutions, are part of the target group for next Thursday’s session. Getting a more detailed picture of KfW’s holistic sustainability approach could be highly relevant for many.

“Our promotion role in this field is very important for us and we want to be a catalyst for this market, to be followed by as many as possible,” says Tim Armbruster.

The presentation takes place in the mid-day “A” track, “Nailing the deal”, which features four sessions all dedicated to different aspects of funding.

In the session, Tim Armbruster plans to describe details of KfW’s top-prioritised Sustainable Finance concept, as well as the group’s latest development towards a transformative promotional bank for a sustainable and greenhouse gas-neutral future.

“Finally, I will elaborate on our experiences as one of the world’s largest issuers on the green bond market, since 2014 but also in the first half of 2022.”
