Being able to describe your corporation’s environmental, social and governance strengths could get you better credits.
This was the core message from the three bankers on stage during the session labelled “The successful bank strategy – 3 banks on how to tackle your banks”.
Experienced bankers gave their advice
On stage were SEB’s Anders Friis, Danske Bank’s Bo Wetterstein and BNP Paribas’ Gustav Steuch. Perhaps more than giving away insider tips about negotioating table tactics, they opened the scope on the emerging possibilities to save money by being green – and being able to describe just how.
“Yes, ESG can help enable a credit that would otherwise have been difficult to get through,” said Gustav Steuch.
It’s not in the S word
“’Sustainability’ is a buzzword, but it is all about being able to formulate concretely what it is you actually do,” he added. “A specific demand for green bonds is emerging, so it is becoming possible to obtain true advantages in the financing.”
