In discussion led by moderator Nina Alaharju, Christine Rovelli shared insights from her work as Senior Vice President, Finance & Fleet Management, of Finnair. Challenges have included the loss of business under the Covid-19 episode, as well as the bashing of the air industry under the global need to cut carbon emissions.
“We want to maximize returns but at the same time we need to be very mindful of where we invest our money and make sure it aligns with the strategic goals of the company,” she said.
Abraham Geldenhuys, Vice President Group Treasury of Kongsberg Automotive, also touched on many topics, including the growing contribution by fintech companies in areas where services by traditional banks have left room for improvement. “Technology and digitisation will remain buzzwords,” he predicted.
