Make it hard to mess it up. This is a better approach than spraying your organisation with tech lingo if digital security is your purpose. This was the image shared by Anne Leslie, senior managing consultant of security intelligence with IBM’s European security competence centre, in the program of Treasury 360 Stockholm Wednesday morning.
A parallell to her sense of frustration during her own divorce process set the emotional pedal note for Anne Leslie’s presentation. She encouraged the audience to look at security as something that will be an enabler for their businesses – but just like a Formula 1 one-second wheel shift it takes preparation.
Immediately is too late
“If something like happens to you, you can’t hope you’ll just be able to respond. You need to anticipate,” she said.
“It will be so much better if we do that, and then identify the people who have the skill set to stay calm under duress, take leadership and channel difficult messages. And the people who are very good at that may not be the same people who run your business most competently day-to-day.”
“There will be organizations who are annihilated by cyber attacks, there will be those who are a little hurt – and there will be those who learn.”
