New ways of protecting buildings from heat, storing renewable energy as hydrogen, and producing food locally … With a focus on the worldwide sustainable transition, Rolf Kjærgaard shared a long list of Danish commercial initiatives, as he took to the stage for the opening keynote of Treasury 360° Copenhagen.
His company is a central asset manager in the Danish investment landscape.
”We need to crack that code of capturing energy to make sure we can tap into it when we need it.”
One example is a 40 storeys high farm in Tostrup, the world’s largest “vertical farm”. In Rolf Kjærgaards words, its product is optimized for taste and nutrition rather than for transportation.
“Those are the types of solutions that we need to produce calories, and do it in a sustainable way.”
Food production with 5 percent of the water that’s needed outdoors, is part of the future.
Next to sustainability, the second major necessity is partnership – and Rolf Kjærgaard shared a concrete list also of these. Only collaboration can bring the needed changes going forward.
