After careful evaluation of the alternative architechtures, Fiskars decided to go for a standalone software-as-a-service solution for its cash and payment handling – as different from solutions with various degrees of tighter ERP-integration.
“From our perspecives we had an ambition to connect many different solutions, not only the ERP. It also related to the IT management – when there was no decisive difference in the functionality. We were not looking to run our own bank within Fiskars,” says Anne-Mari Nieminen.
That said, she is in no way sneering at the alternative solutions.
“There is no fit-all,” she says, emphasising that it is all dependent on circumstances.
